Sorry, but Elwood makes me think of a big, dumb guy.

For fun, I asked my kids, who happen to be in the room with me, because sometimes they have a very different opinion of names than I do.

DS, age 8, says "Elwood sounds like a name for an elf from Lord of the Rings!"

DD, age 12, says "Elwood makes me think of an ancient butler from a British sitcom."

This is my friend's husbands favorite boy name. He is obsessed with the Blues Brothers and wants to name his future son this. My friend is dead set against it. Not a name you could use and not have association with the movie.

Any name with wood in it just doesn't work for me. I'd stereotype this name as an unintelligent, backwoods boy. Sorry. Not a fan at all.

It's NMS at all, but complements your other son's name. I wouldn't mind Woody as a NN.

Thanks all. I know it's not for the feint of heart but Waylon isn't everyone's cup of tea either, haha! H and I have really different naming styles. Our list of acceptable names for girl or boy are seriously short.
