Is this normal?

I don't know whether to be concerned about this or not. My LO has gone three nights in the last week and a half without going pee at all. He sleeps from 8pm until about 6:30-7am. That seems like a very long time to go without peeing for a 7 month old baby. Is this weird? Does anyone else's LO ever do this? Most nights he can fill up a diaper like none other, so it strikes me as very strange when it happens. Just curious if this should worry me?

  • No idea...  That seems strange to me too.

  • Three consecutive nights? How long before bed did he have a bottle? Maybe he just went a little and it dried? IDK. spitballin' here.

  • We've had occasional nights where it seems that A hasn't peed all night, but never in consecutive nights...so I'm not sure. Huh?

No, not three consecutive nights. It has been like one night here and there, but three nights within less than two weeks. He nurses to sleep, so he eats right before bed. I don't think it could be drying up, but to be sure, I put Swaddlers on him the last couple nights. He did it again last night, and the wetness indicator hadn't changed color at all, and I could tell it was totally dry. He will go once I feed him again in the morning. It just seems like a really long time... Who knows. Maybe I will try calling the doc just to see. We are in AZ, so I worry about dehydration sometimes since it is so dry. I have a humidifier going in his room every night to help with that though.

Oh ok, I read babycakes' post and thought consecutive. Darn you babycakes! Wink I can't remember the last time A has done this. DH gets up with him now in the mornings so I don't know if he has noticed it happen lately...My first thought would be dehydration too. Keep us updated! I am curious!!

  • Z will do this too :). But once he has the morning bottle, watch out! The diaper is soaked :). It doesn't worry me at all. I'm just glad he's got his Daddy's bladder and not mine :)

This is what I'm thinking. I googled it and found other conversations that seem to say it is normal. I am just impressed. I can't even go all night without getting up to go to the bathroom. His daddy sure can though...
