recommend your car seat

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I need to start looking at a new car seat already! My little guy is already 26 inches and isn't showing any signs of slowing his height growth! Our car seat has a 29 inch limit, so I want to be prepared when we need to get a new one. We're on a pretty limited budget, so let me know which car seats you are using/plan to use for your taller babes! Thanks!!

Re: recommend your car seat

  • For a tall child I would look at the graco headwise/size4me/mysize (all the same seat, different names) as that's the tallest convertible seat currently on the market. Also look at the evenflo sureride.

If you can/want to spend more look at the chicco nextfit or diono radian.

Even if cost isn't an issue, I would stay far away from britax convertibles as they have much shorter shells than other seats, so will be outgrown a lot younger.

Great info! Thank you! He's in the 95th percentile for height, so we are definitely erring on the side of caution and want a taller seat.

  • Glad to help! At this point, with the new rules to RF to as close to 4 as possible, there are few kids for whom britax convertible seats make sense.

I've had a lot of friends recommend Britax, so I'm really glad you mentioned all of this!

  • My little sister is 4 and a half and has already out grown the height on her britax marathon. She's off the charts for height, so if you want to keep your LO in a seat for a long time, I'd look into other options. Otherwise we love the seat!
