Just curious, when are most if you starting baby on solids? I know American Pediatrics suggest 4 to 6 months, and most pediatricians say 6 months now, but I know some moms who start at 4, because they say they can just tell LO needs to start!
When do most of you plan on starting?

Re: Lurker: Feeding Solids
I have a Daughter born 2/26/2013. She is pretty much amazing!
I started 2 weeks ago... about a week shy of DS turning 5 months. I don't think there's a magical age for things. Some babies are ready sooner and some later. I took my cue from DS... he was sitting up, interested in my food, had lost his tongue thrust reflex, and had doubled his birth weight.
He's had peas, sweet potatoes, and carrots so far and loves it! He gets 1tbsp a day after his 5pm milk. I'm making chunky purees and have both fed him and let him feed himself with his spoon (very messy!). And actually last night I had steamed carrots myself and after DS loved his carrot puree so much the night before I just handed him one of my own carrots off my plate. He chewed on it a bit, but not much went down. Solids at this age is about exploring, learning, and fun.

We started at 4.5 months. I think you have to go on your baby's cues, and no matter what anyone drills at you, do what you think is best and right for you. DD has had sweet potatoes, peas, and peaches. She was not a fan of peas, but loved the other two. I guess she's gonna be a sweet eater, like her mama. Anyway, do what you think is right!
Mind = Blown
I have never heard of this and never in a million years would have thought of it on my own! Perfect for hot days!!

Can you make formula popsicles, too?? My mind is also blown at this concept...not that my LO is old enough, since I'm just lurking ahead from 0 to 3, haha.
