    If you're anything like me it will take time. I still tear up when I realize my son won't grow up in the same house he was born and spent the first two years of his life in. I can't wait to buy a new place in a year or two. Hopefully it will be soon enough the boys will never remember the crappy rental house we're living in now!

    OMG! This is me to a T, only I have a daughter and not a son. My daughter spent the first 2 years of her life in the house she was born in. I know I'll be driving past that house a lot in the coming weeks and months!

    Thanks ladies! Its all very bittersweet. I lived there with STBXH for 5 years and my daughter spent her first 2 years there :( Its been hard to close this chapter on my life and even harder to be a single parent!

    Little advice? Do not drive by. Let it go. I only live 4 blocks from my old house and I managed to stay away except for one drive by when my XH told me the new owners had changed the landscaping. They had ripped out 5k worth of work that I had planned and done myself and put in cheap sod. Just made it worse. Move forward!

    I also live only about a mile from where my house was :(

    Congrats!  I remember when I moved away from the apartment Ex H and I shared it was a relief but kind of bittersweet as well.
