Today sucks. I came home from work and let the dogs out in the backyard. We have 3 dogs. Our male is an American bulldog. He's almost 3 years old and has been growing ever more aggressive towards other dogs. The dog behind us is not very nice and has come after our bulldog 3 separate times we called the cops. Well he has been extremely aggressive toward one of the neighborhood labs.
Today he was very fiercely trying to get this dog through our fence. The dog wasn't leashed, which makes me mad, but my dog was trying to hurt this other dog. He has a shock collar on, but it doesn't work anymore. But he usually behave with it on. Well...not tonight. I went to get them to come inside and he wasn't listening. The 2 girls came right in with no problem. I stood next to the fence and told him to go inside. He looked right at me an lunged at me mouth wide open. I didn't know what to do. So I went to go and get a leash for him and when I turned he bit my hand. When I yelled at him he looked like he was going to get me or the other dog. So what did my crazy butt do?? I jumped on top of him to restrain him. I had him pinned to the ground till he calmed down. I was shaking so hard. Once he wasn't so pumped up I let him go and took him inside.
My DH wasn't home at the time so I text him and told him what happened. My DH is either finding him a new home or I am going to call a bulldog recuse this weekend.
What makes me even more mad is that my DH didn't even make sure I was ok. Ugh. I just needed to get this out and I know you ladies would let me vent and just get it off my chest.
Also...Pearson was inside while this happened. No where near this mess thank god!

Re: My dog bit me today :
oh no that's awful! You must be really shook up - I know I would be! But you did the right thing by jumping on him and pinning him to the ground. You showed him you were in charge. Did he bite you bad? Puncture wounds can be awful.
((hugs))
Secondly, I am so sorry you have to deal with this. I could never keep an animal that bit/ bites me. Would you be open to working with a trainer in the mean time, to help make him safer in the mean time, since rehoming a dog of that breed and with a bite history can take a while?? Good Luck.
It's prob best you find a new home for him now rather then wait for another incident to happen. My parents waited and the dog got worse and bit my siblings too. The hospitals take note on that and after so many incidents the dog has to get put down. Good luck!
