Sex post CS

I'm currently 3 weeks post my CS (my first baby as well)..I was just curious how sex was for you after you were cleared by your DR at 6 weeks and bleeding has stopped..I am assuming it will be easier to get into things since it wasn't a vaginal birth...anything to be aware of?

It was way easier and more enjoyable after my c-section than after my vaginal birth. I healed fast and very well so aside from asking my DH to be a little more gentle I had no problems. Just take it slow and easy once your given the all clear.

That is not entirely true. I know a few women that have had c-sections and had issues with sex. One example, If you are breastfeeding, you could be dry and will need the help of a lubricant and/or lots of foreplay. My friend said they hurt her during the insertion of the internal monitoring device and she said she things were not quite the same after. Of course....this could be different if the c-section was scheduled vs. emergency. Personally, I have a problem with vaginismus. To be put plainly, I tighten up on insertion due to my subconciousness. It is quite annoying and made it nearly impossible to have sex when I was a virgin. I have no idea why I am this way and it was made better with lots of practice (lots of sex). However, I had a rough labor and we went probably about 8 weeks with no sex. By the time we tried, I realized my vaginismus came back. I don't know if this was because my va-jay-jay is tramautized or what.... lol :-/. So we are back to square one and lots of foreplay.

The first time we tried to have sex, once we got the all clear at 6 weeks pp, it went nowhere fast. It was pretty uncomfortable for me so I stopped it. The next time we tried, it was still uncomfortable but we kept going and eventually it got a little better. Continuing to try has worked for us. Each time is a bit less uncomfortable. Everyone is different though. Don't rush it. Wait until you're ready and take it slow.

We started having sex after I was cleared at 6 weeks. I'm 9 weeks PP now. It's getting better but at first I felt like a virgin again. Other than that it was fine.

Definitely still hurt for me as well. I was swollen because I pushed for over 3 hours before the c/s, but that was gone by the time we tried for the first time. Our biggest issues are dryness and just uncomfortable for me. It has gotten better with each try, but still not all the way there at 13 weeks.

ETA: I'm not breast feeding anymore so my dryness isn't related to that.

I was cleared around 8 weeks I believe both times. It didn't hurt other than just normal being out of practice.

It was not so bad for me. I was a bit dry, but take some extra time for foreplay. It wasn't as uncomfortable as the dryness I had when I was pregnant.

The only issue I came across was I was very dry and it hurt. Make sure you have lube on hand

For me, it was the same as sex had always been before. I even O'd. But it can be different for everyone. Take your time and do what feels comfortable. If it hurts, stop.
