Anxiety

Hi guys!

I don't really come on here much, but I also don't know many people that have kids so I'm looking for advice. I have a 9 mo old daughter who just recently started crawling, pulling up, and is generally into everything. I'm having serious anxiety, at night I have horrible nightmares that something bad happens to her. I wake up in a panic and can tell I've been biting and grinding my teeth. Is this normal? Does anyone else experience this? Thanks in advance!!

    I suffer from panic disorder. It sounds like you might want to at least see a counselor to talk about your feelings.

    Normal that you worry about your child- absolutely Normal.  Welcome to being a parent. 

    grinding due to stress/anxiety - normal yes.  may want to talk to dentist about getting a mouth guard before does damage.  If your worried you are having too much anxiety- talk to your dr or may want to further explore WHY you are feeling this way. 

     

    do you have any issues that may make this more worrisome?

    Have you always had anxiety?

    If this is the only thing you worry about you could get a video baby monitor so that every time you wake up worried you can quickly look at the screen and see that she is ok.

    Not to scare you but...she's going to get hurt.  She's going to cry and if she's in bed, you will hear her and be able to go to her to make her better.  Mine constantly hurt themselves because they are either climbing over each other, pushing each other out of the way or because they are learning to walk...they let go and fell.  Everytime they actually hurt themselves I go over and tell them the mommy ambulance is there with kisses, hugs and loves.  I hold them and play with them until they calm down.

     Sometimes it's a fake boo boo and they just want attention.  The mommy ambulance answers those calls too but usually with tickling and raspberries.
