How do you pack food for daycare?

This might sound like a stupid question, but I feel like there could be an easier and less wasteful way to pack DS's meals for daycare.

DS is 9.5 months old and eats both breakfast and lunch at daycare, plus snacks during the day.  I feel like I've become the Queen of ziplocks since I try and group his things together by meal - a ziplock for breakfast with a yogurt and a container of cheerios, for example, and a ziplock for lunch with a bowl of purees and a container of shredded chicken in it.  Anyone have a simpler way?

We use little tupperware like containers. These are our favorite two:

We used the small size when he was younger and now use the larger ones more often.

We use the 12 oz rectangle one.

We also have these which work pretty well, but aren't nearly as sturdy as the others but are much less expensive:

I have something similar to the top ones, maybe I just need to find something similar with a divider so that each meal can have it's own container.  Thanks for these!!

ETA:  Oh, the 2nd ones do have a divider - awesome.  Thanks!

  • For DD's lunch, I use these small rectangular glass containers with a plastic lid.  For snacks, I use reusable cloth snack bags.  They close with a zipper and are machine washable.
  • Since he was about 14 months, I've used a divided lunch container (bento box style), and put snacks in separate containers. Before that, I just piled small containers in his lunchbag, the daycare people could choose which to offer for lunch or snack.

  • I use these for my 13 month old (we have been using them for months) for lunch.  Depending on what breakfast is will go in a separate container. https://www.amazon.com/Tupperware-Toddler-Divided-Dishes-Various/dp/B00079PEFA

We use small plastic containers that are reusable and write "snack" or "lunch" on them. Then they all go in her lunch bag and taken in. No big deal.
  • Check out fresh starts toddler chilled snack bowl. It has dividers and an ice pack in the bottom. And leak proof.

I use stainless steel containers from pottery barn kids and a plastic bowl tommee tippee for her oatmeal.Oatmealfruit plastic bowl.Lunch pasta or a quesadilla or ? we are still figuring out the meals in one container; fruit or veggies or both in a second.Snack either a jarred puree or a reusable pouch with yogurt in it. I'm not sure why you need that many ziplocks.... I'd go for some resuable bags if you are really using that many.nbsp; Then again, I also don't care when daycare gives my LO what food.
Its only 2 ziplocks a day but over a week, it adds up. So just trying to see what everyone else does because I feel like it can be done a lot easier. I actually found some lock top divided containers at Marshalls today so I'm going to try those out. Thanks ladies!
