We started with cereal at 6 months. She wasn't really into it, which didn't surprise me because DD1 hated it. So I moved to squash. She liked about 3 bites, then was done. And really wouldn't try it again. So we've tried a couple other purees. Same reaction.
I thought BLW might be the way to go. She was pretty uninterested in that also. She is dairy/soy intolerant and on Nutramigen. She's only been on bottles for a little over a month. I'm kind of thinking this has a little to do with it. Like she's just getting used to the idea of a bottle so other foreign things going to her mouth are too new? I don't know if that makes sense.
I just feel confused. DD1 ate anything and everything that went to her mouth from the get go. I know everything says food isn't a big deal at this point, but it's hard not to feel like she is...behind? That's not the right word, but I'm kind of brain dead right now.
Re: DD not really interested in food
I have twins, so it's interesting to see how differently they are coming along.
DD1 is all about food. Loves her purees and cereal. DD2 has almost 0 interest in purees and cereal, still preferring her bottle, but she enjoys puffs/cheerios and does a decent job "chewing" them. DD1 doesn't seem to know what to do with them. We tried some noodles this weekend and DD1 did great with them while DD2 was not interested.
Each in their own time. She'll do it when she's ready. FWIW, there's a 1yo in their class at DC who is still EBF (the duaghter of one of their teachers) and eats nothing else.
