TTC - missed period

Hello! My husband and I are TTC with our first and yesterday I missed my period and took a pregnancy test but it was negative. Has anyone had this happen to them and had a positive test shortly after? Im having a ton of symptoms but dont want to get my hopes up as it very well could be signs of a period on its way. I had a miscarriage in March and since that time my cycle changed. Thanks for your help!

You cycle can change after a miscarriage. Did your doctor recommend you chart for a few months post-MC to see if you are still ovulating? That was the recommendation I got when I miscarried a few years ago.

I also missed a period last month -- well I went 52 days between periods when I have been a 30-31 day kind of girl since I was 17. I peed on a stick every few days until my period finally came. I did finally get my period on my own, but again my doc recommended charting to see if it was maybe stress or if there are other factors at play. This month it looks like I ovulated on day 17 like I normally did and all my tests are coming back normal, so we are thinking stress was the culprit for the late period. Could that be the case with you?

Your cycle still may be off. I would give it a day or two more before calling the doctor if you haven't had you period yet. Sometimes it is just an off cycle but it can also mean something else is up. I hope for the best for you.

As the other ladies are saying, give it a couple more days to see, if you start on your own or you get a BFP, after a mc, most women have a wonky adjustment period for a bit, then get back on track.....Hope yours will be a pregnancy.

I had a loss in January and my cycles have been all sorts of wonky since then. I have been temping/charting since last fall, so I know when I ovulate, but my cycles have been very inconsistent. I've ovulated as early as CD9 and as late as CD13, and my LP (Luteal phase, time between ovulation and period) has varied too, it used to be 11 days, but the last two cycles it was 14 and 15 days - so basically, I thought I was late and pregnant, but I kept testing and getting negatives and just got my period later than expected.

Unfortunately, a negative test right now means not pregnant. You might test in a few days and get a positive, or you might not. There's no way to know.

I am sorry about your loss. I also had a MC late Jan and my cycles have been weird. My last AF was 5 days late and my cycles have always been like clockwork. I would wait a couple more days and test again if AF has still not arrived.
