Success after IF

Bra at night

Hi Ladies

i know I have been a bit MIA lately but that's mostly because the next part of my exam is just over a week away. My in laws are back in town to help out with LO though so hopefully I can get some good studying in. It hurts to not be the one cuddling him all day though!

Anyway, My question is how long did you wear a bra to bed if you were breastfeeding? I still am but am starting to get tired of it and hot. I think my supply has finally regulated a bit so I haven't leaked or needed a bath towel to feed LO in a week or so and the most he has gone between feeds at night is 7h but it is usually 6h. Is there a reason to keep wearing the bra to bed?

Thanks!

Re: Bra at night

  • I didn't stop until about a two months ago, but that is because DS still nursed at night. Right after he turned one he started to STTN and I'm going to guess the only reason I didn't have problems with leaking was becuase my body already wasn't making as much.

ETA: if you're not comfortable and don't mind the mess (IF you have one) don't wear the bra.

I never wore a bra to bed, I just slept on a towel. Sometimes I sleep in nursing tanks, but I usually just sleep in camisoles, which is what I slept in prebaby. If say go for it!
And GL on your next round of exams. I'm sure you'll do great!

  • I slept in nursing tanks for the entire year I nursed DS. It was just how I was most comfortable. I say if you don't like the bra try to go without it and see how it goes. :)

  • I'm very small chested so I never wore a bra, nor nursing tank.  I just wore my regular PJs.  Yes it was a bit messy early on when M started sleeping longer hours, but I just ended up changing my PJ top every night.  I also slept with a burp cloth for a while.

Thanks ladies. Even as I typed it I knew the answer was probably going to be to just try it. I might wait until after the exam because we have to fly for that and it's a different time zone and any time LO moves his feed times around it changes my supply. Plus I don't want to soak my friend's bed where we are staying. I'll keep you posted!
  • I never wore a bra to bed, but would often wear a nursing tank.  When I went through that ridiculous leaky stage I just laid a towel under me so I wouldn't soak through the sheets.
