maternity pants that don't fall down?

Has anyone found maternity pants that you're not continually hiking up. With my first pregnancy, I like the "low rise" pants with the band that goes under the belly, but it seemed like everytime I bent over my butt crack was hanging out. This time I bought a pair of "secret fit" jeans at Motherhood, and although they're very comfortable, they are constantly falling down. With a toddler to chase and pick up, I feel like I'm ALWAYS tugging my pants back to where they're supposed to be. Any ideas of which pants don't fall down when you bend over? Or am I just cursed with this until I can wear regular pants again? Thanks

  • I love you for posting this. I can't keep my pants up to save my life. I mean, they're comfy and all, but geez!

  • The pants that I have that don't fall down are the kind that have a regular zip and button front, but have an expandable waist at the back.  Got them at Ann Taylor Loft mat.  The other pair has a belly sleeve that goes over the entire belly.  Those two pants don't fall down.

  • Do you wear an undershirt or cami?  I usually wear one under sweaters, shirts, etc.  If you tuck the cami/undershirt in to your pants, they'll stay up a lot better.  :)

  • I have the same problem with SF jeans, but not their dress pants. . . I think it's because the belly panel material isn't strong enough to hold up the weight of the jeans.
  • I call it the pregnancy sag.  I like my pair of underbelly jeans from Target.  They are the only ones that stay up on me, but they are starting to feel a little snug.

  • I have found the same to be true with pants of all styles and brands...from under the belly to Secret Fit...cheap JC Penney pants to nicer kinds.  Such an annoyance!
  • I'm convinced every brand of jeans falls down, LOL.  Actually I love my secret fit. But the Bella Band has become my best friend, it is great for keeping all my maternity pants up.

Ditto - the under belly pair I have from Target stay up MOST of the time at least!  The SF cords from motherhood...not so much.

So annoying!  I sometimes end up wearing my tummy sleeve over the belly panel for some extra support.

  • I fold the Tummy Sleeve over my real-waist lowrise maternity jeans to keep them up... I have to fold the Secret Belly Fit panel in half to keep those up... and I found that a pair of Secret Belly Fit black pants stayed up perfect when I pulled them over a tank top.

Having said that, I still have to adjust my pants from time to time, but the tummy sleeve has cut that down by about 75%!

  • Thanks for the insight. As someone said, the dress pants from MM don't fall down. I actually wish I could wear those all the time. Sounds like getting a Bella Band or something like it might help. I wish they had maternity pants that had the fabric that goes over your tummy PLUS an actual waistband that buttons, has elastic and expands. Those would be the PERFECT maternity jeans.?
  • I found a solution.  I don't have the bella band but I actually pull my pants up as far as I can tuck the top into my bra.  My pants stay up all day.  Worth a try!
