To answer your question...maybe instead of a "cooking day", you could set up a meal train. I think there is a website that you can use too, which makes coordinating easier. I agree with PP on your original post that my freezer is small and if you made me say 15 meals my freezer wouldn't have the space.
Maybe do something like a spa day for her with a few friends. Or maybe a massage or something pampering. Diapers and wipes are never a bad idea either...I know that I was so grateful when anyone bought me those, especially after LO was in a bigger size.
I'm not sure how that would go. A bunch of people all get together and cook a bunch of stuff to put in MTBs freezer that day? As in, perhaps at 30 weeks or so? I think that would be using valuable freezer space for 10 weeks unnecessarily.
I wouldn't be against receiving food for homecoming with baby, but perhaps have a few people drop off dishes when mom gets home instead. That way, they could stay in the fridge for a day or two without going bad. It would also offer variety.
Maybe just have a gathering to socialize, get ideas from MTB of what she might like, then create a schedule (although somewhat loose due to unknown delivery date) for a few drop offs every two or three days.
Even dropping off food in the week or so leading up to due date might be nice. When MTB is in the hospital, her DH and other kids still need to eat. Beats fast-food.
Just a thought. I've never seen food dropped off IRL for anything other than after a death in the family. When my mom died, there was so much food dropped of that day and the next, we threw out so much because it went bad. But at least we had lots of options for a couple days.
Does no one else do Sip and Sees? To meet the baby after it's born? Is this a Southern thing? That's waht I would do, a small meet the baby party where people can bring a small gift if they want.
Anyway, it sounds like you want to do something before baby comes. I kind of like the lunch & mani-pedi idea. That way it's something fun you can all enjoy. Maybe go get lunch and see a chick-flick or something. If you did the lunch thing, maybe youi could all chip in a few bucks for a group gift.

Re: XP: Third baby shower help
I wish I lived where you did! ;D
