As my due date comes closer I am super nervous to go thru labor this is my first child and I have no idea what to expect..I want to try the drug free option with no epidural..any words of encouragement
I won't lie, it hurts but it's nothing you can't handle. Your body was made to do this so just try to think about that when you get nervous. I must confess, this will be my second labor and even I'm nervous. It's only natural. Good luck!
Whether your a first time mom or having your third , it is perfectly normal to be nervous. You forget so much over time And every delivery is completely different. Try to relax as much as possible , go in with an idea of what you want along with an open mind to changes.
What my nurse said to me with DD1 when I started whining....."You've got this! Women have been giving birth since the dawn of time!" I had an epi and will this time, so I have no advice on that front but I do think you ladies that go au natural are rock stars!
I'm a second timer and I'm more nervous this time than I was last time lol. I think it's just natural. I had to have pitocin last time from the very beginning so I def got an epi. The best advice I can give you is to not have too much of a plan. Or like dont get too focused on things going a certain way. You will be a lot more at ease if you are somewhat able to go with the flow. Don't go in with no plan but just be flexible. Plus I watched births on YouTube last night and that actually kind of helped me a little bit.

I think focusing on each contraction is the way to go, instead of getting overwhelmed by the whole process. My friend who went med-free said she just kept thinking "The contractions are coming from me, so they can't be stronger than me," and that helped. (To some extent!) We can do water-birth in my L&D, but we can labor in jacuzzi tubs and showers so I'm hoping that helps!
