What's new with the LOs?
DD's cake smash/birthday photo shoot was yesterday, and it was great. I've already seen 2 sneak peek pics on her website and they are great. Today is her birthday party so we're in the process of decorating and getting food ready. I can't believe she's going to be 1 on Tuesday; my late May baby turned June bug.
She's still not walking but getting more balanced and will walk easily holding my hand. Her new word is "tree" and will say it every morning when she points at the tree decals on her wall. Her newly perfected word is "Daddy". DH is really happy because she'll go around the house almost chanting "da-ddy, da-ddy, da-ddy"
Re: May 2012 Babies
I hope your LO's birthday party goes great!
My LO also says daddy more than mommy and he is a daddy's boy for sure! He usually prefers DH to hold him because DH can hold him longer and walk around with him. I can't for too long because he is so heavy!
My LO is cruising along furniture and liking to get up on his knees. He points to everything he wants to see. He also is getting more vocal about what he wants too. For instance, if I am feeding him and I am distracted for a few seconds he will yell at me to remind me to give him more food. Ha ha.
Today he was saying da da and pointing right at his daddy, so cute!
My other favorite thing is if we watch tv with an audience applauding, he starts to clap :-D

Oh yeah, this too! Everytime he hears music he just has to bee bop around to it!
DD is walking so much now. She wobbles and stumbles but she can get a good distance before falling. She is probably walking about the same amount as she crawls now. She's been cutting teeth like crazy. She has 13 teeth now and it is just a matter of time before she gets 3 more. Then I hope we get a break from teething for a while.
DD's vocabulary has increased but I'm assuming it's because she has been focusing on walking lately. She still loves to say "dad" though!
DD is still mainly on purees. I've been trying so hard to get her to eat more solids and the only solids she will eat is the Gerber pick-ups (mango, peach, carrots, and apples). She isn't interested in anything else. I'm a little bummed but I guess she will progess on her own time.
How adorable!
I can't wait for LO to start dancing. She kind of bops up and down when she hears music but she much prefers if we hold her and dance with her in our arms.
DD is getting a little more outgoing in the music class we've been going to once a week, so that's been fun to watch.
She seems to be content with cruising the furniture, pushing her little walker toy around, and crawling to get where she wants. She won't even walk holding my hands anymore -- I guess she'd rather just do it on her own! LOL I'm waiting for the day she surprises me and just takes off across the middle of the room on her own.
She is also full-on testing boundaries now --- she knows she isn't supposed to touch outlets (we have the safety things in them, but still re-direct her when she tries to touch them). So now she'll look at the outlet, say "no no no", then go over and touch it anyway. And if I'm not watching when she touches it, she'll stand there saying "Hi! Momma, hi!" and waving to get my attention. Just to make sure I know she's doing something she isn't supposed to. It is so hard to NOT LMAO when she does that!
That's hilarious! I would die laughing every time!
