Does anyone else have a LO who scratches their head or face intentionally? DD does this whenever her arm escapes the swaddle, or while nursing, and she constantly has big, red scratches all over her head, forehead, and face because of it. I keep her nails as short as I can, and file them too, but they're still sharp. Our pediatrician told us to use hydrocortisone cream, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference. I'd really like to progress to sleeping without swaddling her arms, especially since she is very close to being able to roll from her back to her stomach, but I am afraid to do this because of how much she scratches. Any suggestions?

DS does this too. Right now he looks like he was on the losing end of a fight! LOL! I just started using lanolin on his head and I think it might be helping but maybe too soon to tell.
