Rolling over fail

DS started rolling over tummy to back when he was about 3 weeks old. He would do it multiple times in a row, so it wasn't just an accident. Granted, I think he was partly using his big head to do so.

Then he went on a tummy time strike for a few weeks where he would just lay there and cry.

Now he's back to actually lifting his head and such during tummy time. Except he has so much more chunk than before he can't seem to roll himself over anymore!

Re: Rolling over fail

  • Yeah my little guy was a rolling over pro at just a few weeks old because he would lift his head, tilt it, and it would cause him to roll over. He can still do it sometimes now, though not as frequently since his body has put on more weight.

  • My little guy is a couch potato! Whenever we try tummy time now he lays there for a while, maybe lifts his head a couple of times then cries until I pick him up.

  • meh they choose the skills they want to work on. Some days DD will chill on her tummy, looking around. Some days she'll roll right as soon as I put her on her tummy. Some days she uses her legs to push herself across her activity mat and carpet, and others she lies there and tries to grab at toys.

I know. I'm not worried about DS at all. I just can't help but laugh a bit at his predicament. He tries to roll over, but hasn't been able to w/ the extra chunk. He may also get a little frustrated then too.
