STMs - replacing bottle nipples?

I'm wondering whether or not any of you replaced all of your bottle nipples from your first to your second. I know they say you should replace them every 6 months or so, but ours stood up very well so we never replaced them with our first. Should we replace all the nipple bottles before baby #2?

Yes. I bought new ones for the old bottles. However, second kid wouldn't take the same kind of bottles!! So, we had to go out and buy an entirely different type of bottle in the end anyhow. I'd hold off on replacing all of them until you test out the bottle first.

I was thinking his same thing. We went through so many different bottles with E I'm not buying anything until I know what they want!

Yes we did. I figured this kid was getting hand me downs for everything else...he at least deserved some new bottle nipples, haha.

We only bought one new nipple in case like pp said baby wouldn't take the same bottles. Sure enough he preferred the nuk ones so he got all new bottles and nipples. A uses the playtex droppins.

we did not do it right away. after dunk got thrush twice, i replaced them because i was paranoid that that was part of the issue.

they both used born free bottles with the slow flow nipple.

I threw out all the nipples after hazel was done with them and was going to replace them, but then avent came out with their new bottles and I decided to just splurge on new bottles because the newer ones have one less part to clean.

We tried about 5 different brands of bottles for G and we finally settled with Dr Browns. When B was born, we looked at the old nipples and they had turned kinda yellow...ew. We actually didn't notice til we compared them to new nipples (still packaged) we had left over. So we replaced all the nipples before using them for B. He took to Dr Browns fine, thank goodness.
