Barfy Baby. Help!

Elsie has been barfing. I don't quite know what to do. ::mobile sad face::

She has barfed twice now. Copious amounts. I mean, sorry to be graphic, but it was like a fountain. The second time it even came out her nose a little! We saw the dr this morning but I feel so lost. Trying to feed her frequently.

Have any of you had a barfy baby? What did you do for them?

  • ick. if i didn't know what to do i would call the dr back. if she is throwing up everything she eats they might want you to take her in for dehydration issues. hope she feels better soon..

  • Oh my! I don't have any suggestions, but if it were me, I'd call the doctor back! At least for reassurance or suggestions. I really hope she feels better soon.

  • We recently had this similar problem with DD. She was having a runny nose/congestion/no fever and it seemed like 20-30 mins after every feed it would come up just like a fountain-more than once. But it seemed like she wasn't in pain/no crying! I took to her see her pedi twice. She said that the mucus constantly filled her stomach, so when you add formula/bm on top it had no room. She suggested saline nasal drops to thin the mucus and suction before every feeding, then feed small amounts frequently. We did this for at a week at least. We went from 5-6oz down every 3-4 hrs to 1-2oz every 3 hrs. DD's congestion eventually went away and so did the throwing up. We do the nasal drops at the first sign of congestion.

I hope this helps! It's tough watching it happen-so I know how you feel!

Thanks, prissy. I called the dr office back. 3x now. First nurse wasn't very clear. Last nurse was super helpful. She barfed again. I suspect a virus. ::mobile sad face:: We are bfing for 57 minutes every hour. Resting her tummy an hour after each barf. I hate this.

  • I haven't been down that road yet. DS currently has a cold, very runny nose, sneezing and teething all at the same time. He also has a low grade fever.

I hope your LO feels better very soon.

    Henry Cavill...You're welcome!
