High Chair Recommendation

So we've used the same high chair for both DD and DS and although it works fine, I just hate it. It takes up a massive amount of space, I don't like cleaning the cloth cushion thingy that attaches to it constantly, and it's just ugly. Any other moms have a good recommendation for one that doesn't take up a lot of space, is preferably wooden or really simple looking, has a tray and does not cost a fortune? Thanks!

Re: High Chair Recommendation

  • I actually have a very cheap Cosco one that I ordered from Walmart.com and I absolutely love it! I attached a picture but I am still figuring out the clicky part of it.

  • We have never had a high chair, we just always used a booster chair.  One that straps to a regular chair and it has a tray you can use or not use.  We have a small house so I knew a highchair would take up too much space.

We did this with my twins, because we knew that the high chairs would take up space.  They are 2 and work out really well for us still.

I have this one too. It's cheap and folds up small so it's really easy to pack.
  • Thanks for the ideas ladies! Definitely need to look into those. The space savers seem like a good option and are fairly cheap.
Does anyone have an Ikea high chair or know anything about them? I know they have a few types but most seem affordable and pretty small compared to the beast we currently have.

    We like this one too.
  • We had a Chicco Polly and a Fisher Price Space Saver.  I love the Space Saver and wish we had used that as our only high chair.

I'm sure it is fine now if you buy a new one, but there was a recall of an IKEA high chair last year, FYI in case you buy used.  We have a Fisher Price "EZ Clean" high chair.  It works well for us, but it does take up a lot of room.  The tray is easy to remove and the whole thing is easy enough to clean.  We also bought a "splat mat" to put under it and that thing has really come in handy!

Oh thanks, I hadn't heard about the recall. My sister in law made a splat mat since she has a carpeted dining room and she loves hers too! My husband bought me a dyson digital slim vacuum last year that I specifically wanted for cleaning up the mess that happens after each and every meal. So nice!
