Fun times NIP today

DH and I were visiting SIL today. She has two kids -- an eleven year-old boy and an eight year-old girl. We went to a Renaissance Fair in town, and DS started screaming  during the jousting match, so I tried to feed him. But every time the crowd would cheer (read: every three minutes), DS would unlatch, freak the f?ck out, and reveal my nipple to everyone. I don't normally care about this sort of thing, but the crowd was full of teenage boys (like most Ren Fairs?), so I left the show and finished nursing DS outside on a bench.

Shortly thereafter, the show ended, and my family joined me on the bench while DS finished up on my boob. Then suddenly my niece turns to me and timidly says the following: "Um...Aunt Stephanie...Did you know we are in public?"

I didn't know whether to laugh or to use this opportunity to take a stand on...something. So, I laughed.

Awkward.

Nursing on the plane was like that for me, any noise or the freaking pilot talking.  I just wanted to scream every flucking time K fell asleep the pilot had to sleep.  The joys of nursing in public.

Dude...WHY do pilots talk so much on flights? And WHY are those speakers so loud? I am right there with you. DS would nod off and then the pilot would come on to loudly crack stupid jokes about something nobody cared about.

That's awesome. DS is 9 and I'm sure he's seen some nipple. I've had to tell him it's not polite to stare when someone is feeding their baby.

My niece hasn't been around a lot of babies. Breastfeeding is alien to her. I am kind of amused that she thought I was just whipping the boob out for the sake of being lewd, but I am also sad that an eight year old girl is inculcated more with boobs being sexual than boobs being pragmatic.

Despite all of that, though, her comment just made me giggle. I let her mom take it from there...

No shiz I was on that plane for 9 1/2 hours (thanks delay) and none of us were happy by the end.

On an unrelated note, your new sig pic is adorable. Adorable!!
