So we're hopefully moving by the end of the summer, and I've been going through my clothes. Unfortunately, my weight has fluctuated tons in my life, so I have way too many clothes in all kinds of sizes. I'm trying to weed through.
I just came across my maternity clothes, and saw the bras I wore at the end of pregnancy/when nursing for the 2 months I could. They're freaking ENORMOUS and I have NO desire to go back to them!
Before getting pregnant, I was a 38DD. At the height of pregnancy/nursing, I was a 44F (and I only gained 18 pounds total! My ribcage expanded tons!) I'm now 10 pounds UNDER my pre-pregnancy weight, and my breasts shrunk a little, but they haven't returned to pre-pregnancy proportions. They're now 40DDD!
I am still very overweight, and I'm still losing more. I'm just trying to figure out what I can donate instead of storing (since I am determined that I will be a much smaller size for the next pregnancy), but since bras are expensive, are the ginormous ones worth keeping, in case they get huge again with a 2nd pregnancy? Since I'm planning to lose 60+ more pounds though, shouldn't my breasts shrink? (Although I've lost 10 pounds beyond my pre-pregnancy weight so far, and I thought they'd go back to normal by now, but they haven't!) I'm just trying to both save money and not store everything under the sun at the same time.
Any moms have experience with this/advice?
Re: Post-pregnancy breast size/weight loss/what clothes to keep?
this!
I hung on to mine since Ill only ever be that size pregnant/nursing.
Also, I didn't buy regular bras during my pregnancy. I bought the nursing bras and wore those for my pregnancy and breastfeeding time. It saved me from buying extra bras in a size I wouldn't fit in after i was done nursing.
Ditto. Everyone is different. My breasts got big by six weeks into my first pregnancy and have never gotten smaller. I finally got rid of things that didn't fit in the chest once I weaned DD and it was clear I wouldn't be able to wear them again. But I have friends who have nursed two babies and whose breasts are smaller now.
