My sister had a bday party for my 4yr old nephew. It was a pirate theme kind of supposed to be for the Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Anyway, she had the kids digging for treasure and they LOVED it! All she did was take shredded paper from her office and put it in a small kiddie pool and mix in little toys and candy for them to dig for. It was the highlight of the party and it was so simple to do. Although the shredded paper can get a little messy especially if the kids start throwing it at each other.
