Zinc cream on BG pocket - how to fix with Dawn soap

DH accidentally put a zinc based cream on DS's bum and realized his mistake just as he was putting a BG pocket diaper on. The result is just a few spot of zinc on the absorbent part of the diaper. I've read that blue Dawn soap can remedy this. Anyone tried it? How did you do it? Thanks!!!

It was Sudocrem, basically the Canadian version of Desitin, I think! Good to know about the CA baby brand - I received some of that as a gift, but haven't tried it yet!
