  Still waiting to hear back from my nurse today was day one of my period and the nurse on call said that she will call me back with my protocol for starting my IVF cycle ( fingers crossed our insurance company authorized starting our IVF cycle ugh insurance companies great having health insurance pain getting authorizations) Is that the typical protol Lupron? I'm not even sure what injections I will be giving myself.  All the nurse today told me was that I would be taking the birth control for 21 days and the birth control began with an O.

  IUI #1 (Follistim switched over to Menopur injections) - BFN

  Attempted IUI #2 (Menopur injections only cycle) better response on the Menopur then the Follistim combination treatment cycle however my cycle was still canceled due to my eggs not maturing and follicles not growing enough on a high dose of Menopur (Re said I could try a cycle of comid + ovidrel  for an IUI) for my second IUI( praying this works for us)

    Clomid + Ovidrel protocol worked still a BFN as a result

  Attempted cycle  Clomid  + Ovidrel protocol for IUI # 3 (Unable to do this cycle due to a cyst)

  IUI # 3 Clomid+ Ovidrel protocol - BFP    Beta #1 752  Beta #2  1536    Beta #3 3797

  EDD 10/27/14

  Our sweet baby boy arrived on 9/2/14 TTC # 2 Conceived without help- June 2015 July 2015- Miscarriage ( blighted ovum)

  If it is long lupron, you will take BCP.  5 days before ending BCP, you will start Lupron.  Once you stop the BCP, you will have a withdraw bleed.  Then things will pick up and you will start stims.  There are other protocols though that I know less about.  Good luck!

  My protocol now is almost identical to what jschwind says. My previous 2 cycles I did antagonist and did BCp beforehand. Approx 21 days of BCp then a withdrawal bleed then stims.

  Feb'12- July'12-testing(all clear minus slight arcuate ute), 3 IUI with clomid all BFN
  8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 

  ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
  IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
  ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN

  ER 7/19 14R, 11M, 9F(4 natural fert, 5 with ICSI)
  ET 5dt 7/24 2 fully expanded blasts.  SURPRISE 3 FROSTIES!!!

  I did Long Lupron and I got a light period, but my RE told me that not everyone gets one following lupron shots/BCP. I think there is a range of "normal" responses...good luck!

  | Married since 2008 | DH and I: Both 30 | Me: Endometriosis and Carrier of an X-Linked Dominant Genetic Disorder | DH: Low Morph | Planning IVF with PGD and PGS in 2013 | Freeze-All IVF #1: March 2013 ER 3/26. 29R, 12M, 11F. 4 5AA frozen blasts. Freeze-All IVF#2: May 2013 ER 5/15. 31R, 21M, 20F. 6 5AA frozen blasts. Our PGD probe was completed in late June (total of 20 weeks to develop). PGD and PGS Results came on 6/19: 3 healthy embryos (normal chromosomes and unaffected by my family's genetic disorder). FET #1: July 2013 Natural Cycle - Cancelled due to insufficient lining (only got to 7.5mm). FET #1.2: August 2013 - Medicated Cycle with Lupron & Estrogen Patches to build up lining. Single embryo transfer was 8/23. Beta #1: 240! Beta #2: 578! U/S on 9/19 at 6w4d: We saw the heart beating at 131bpm.   This.  Although I didn't know that that was what a long lupron protocol was.  I start Lupron 5 days before stopping BCP, and my protocol does say to expect menses after BCP and that I do not need to call if that happens.

  I didn't do long lupron I took birth control till 4 days before starting meds and I got my period 2 days after stopping BCP for 4 days the meds made it stop. I was like you waiting on insurance while starting. Good luck dear!
