Too early to tell, but... 2ww

Hello all, this is my first post!

So... my wife and I have been talking for a while about starting a family, her as the bio mom and myself as the terrified/joyous/supportive Momma. We gave AI two tries last week, after having QUITE a time interpreting the ovulation tests.

She called me today from work, saying she was nauseous, light headed, and had a funny metallic taste in her mouth. Of course we're both paying extra attention to every little detail, but I've spent the day reading over all the articles on the signs of early pregnancy that I can find. Is 9 days after AI too soon for any symptoms? Are we being crazy?

  • I know you want to be super excited--- BUT--- I had those same symptoms all 4 times I inseminated---and all 4 times I was not pregnant. So, it could be, it could not be... hand in there...and just wait.

  • It's so difficult to not become hyper sensitive to changes in your body when you're ttc. I found that I experienced a symptom of being pregnant every time we inseminated. The month that I was actually pregnant the only symptom that I had was pmstype cramps from 11 dpo and then from 13dpo I had very itchy breasts.

I hope that it's good news for you though!

  • Not too early at all! BUT don't get too disappointed if it doesn't. Did you have a medicated cycle? We used a trigger shot and it puts hcg in your body and I think is why my wifey felt things so early as it was just the hcg, BUT everybody I talk to says you just sort of know when it does take. My wifey felt prego, she glowed had few cramps, tired and slept a lot more than normal. Because of timing we learn to be more in tune with our body! She could def. be prego. Only time will tell. We are also in our tww. We should be getting close to implantation day so she is really listening to her body. We lost our baby on our first try at 9 weeks. So this is our 2nd try. Good luck and keep us posted!

  • Welcome.. The TWW is a mind f**k.  To try and control my craziness I always told myself that if I had enough preg hormone to create symptoms then I should have enough hormone to turn a test..... granted this usually lead me to testing early.  Which is a another cycle itself.  Best of luck!

  • Day two of a metallic taste in her mouth, and still queasy. We're really trying to wait at least another week to take the test, but I don't know if I can keep her out of the pharmacy aisle that long!
