NBR - I could cry :(

DH hired some people to lay mulch for us this year because I'm too busy with the kids/school and he is having issues with his back, so he can't do it himself.

So DH told the people over the phone to leave my garden alone.  It's a cinder block bed on the side of our house that is a total eyesore and usually has a lot of weeds because I do it organically and have to pull them all by hand.  They said they would.

I just got home from my son's violin lessons and apparently the guys showed up to do their work while I was gone.  They trampled through my garden and pulled everything up.  WTHeck??????

I told the guy that he pulled up all of my bean sprouts and he was like "Oh, is that what those were?"  Um, yes.  I know there were a lot of weeds in there, so they probably assumed they were doing me a favor by pulling everything up, but I would think landscapers would know the difference between weeds and veggie sprouts.

I'm so upset.  At this point it's so late in the season that I don't think it's worth it to plant anything to replace it unless I buy plants and transplant them into the garden, but that just isn't cost effective for us.  Crying

No garden for me this year.

  • That's so annoying! Can you talk to the landscaper and ask that THEY do something to rectify it since they had said they would leave it alone and didn't? Let them buy you plans to replace your sprouts!

I would totally take to the landscaper or his boss and ask them to replace everything. You specifically asked tem not to touch it and I they were unsure of that area they should have called you or waited and asked you.. That wasn't very professional of them ad I know accidents happen but they knew there was an area that was to be left alone and they could of asked :

  • Wow, I'd be ticked! I would be calling that company and asking what they are going to do for you [not IF they can do anything] for ruining your plants. That's unacceptable.

  • What PP's said. They were the ones that messed up, they should make it right by either replacing the plants themselves or giving you money to buy plants that you can transplant to the garden. I'd definitely call them and complain, the worst that can happenis that they'll say no, but hopefully they'll have good customer service and be willing to fix this to keep their customers happy!

    agree!

We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013.  We love her to pieces.

We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011.  She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.
