Has anyone started your "what I am packing in my hospital bag" list? OR even started packing? I swore I was not going to take a bunch of crap that I will not use, like I did with DS1. However, my list just keeps getting longer!!!! Lol
I'm just taking my makeup with me this time around. I am only slightly kidding.
ha, this. I didn't use half the stuff I packed, and I thought I was being a minimalist. I haven't given it any thought yet, but the only things I remember using are:
2, maybe 3 "outfits" (nursing tank and sweatpants)
toiletries
take-home outfit for baby
cell phone and charger
camera
And of course, any hospital paperwork, insurance cards, etc. Carseat and base were already installed in our cars.
I used all the crap the hospital provided - gown, pads, diapers, baby side-snap shirts, blankets, etc.. I used a pillow to prop the baby for nursing. (MAYBE I might bring a boppy this time, I remember being super uncomfortable). I can't remember if I used my nipple pads/cream in the hospital.. pretty sure my milk was still coming in so I wasn't leaking till I got home.
I brought my laptop (this was pre-iphone/ipad days for me), magazines, a journal, other baby clothes.. barely touched them, if at all.
For the second baby I packed about 1/2 as much as I did with DD1. This time, I'll probably pack about 1/2 of that. There was so little that I needed.
But my iPad and charger are 100% needed. I will *** punt anyone who try's to tell me it isn't needed. Baby are boring for the first few month. Especially sleepy newborns.
Eleanor 1/8/10
Harriet 1/19/12
Margaret 10/31/2013
I haven't only because I'll be having a repeat c/s. I didn't bring much last time, and I'll be bringing even less this time because DH won't be here so I won't have to pack for him.
I'm bringing bathroom essentials, sweats and tanks, pads since the ones the hospital provides are literally like adult sleep diapers (DH finds this very funny and keeps making jokes about shopping for mine and the babies diapers at the same time), and my laptop and/or a couple of books. And phone, of course. But that's really it. I might bring DH. Kidding.
are you serious?people are thinking about this??? i had no list. i brought an outfit for the baby, nursing tank and some yoga pants/tshirt for me. end of story
