need advice from stay at home moms

K ladies we just decided yesterday that I will be staying home with our LO. We also just moved into our new home this past Sunday. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed since we were living in a one bedroom apt.

Any advice for getting housework and chores done? LO is 10 weeks and loves hanging with mom :

today is our first full day home alone without any contractors here and it has been a lazy day so far. How do you get everything done? I neef helpful tips!! TIA!

I am a SAHM right now while school is out and we also just moved into a new house.  I try to give myself three chores to complete a day while Connor (8 weeks) is sleeping.  Today is load the dishwasher, empty one box from the garage, and remove the stuff we have accumulated in the foyer.  I may get one more thing done when husband comes home and he spends some time with his son.

That's a good idea. Thanks! I'm hoping to get up early Sat morning after the morning for feeding and get some stuff done!

Baby wearing has saved my life. It allows me to actually get things done around the house, cook dinner, etc.

My biggest advice is dont lose yourself in staying home. Even if its challenging, get out and do your errands. When LO is older, go to the park, story time, play groups. I tend to go crazy when I don't get out enough.

The swing is a life saver for me.  I can usually get a lot done while she is in her swing in the living room.  That is usually when I fold clothes ang get the kitchen clean.  I don't know what I will do when she grows out of it, which is going to be soon since she is now weighing 16lbs!

  • Do you have a bouncer? Often times if you have your LO in the general area with you in a bouncer they just can look around and watch as you do whatever you need to get done.

This. As long as she can see me she is pretty content.

  • Try and just do a few things a day like PP said. Also like PP baby wearing is nice or taking the bouncer around with you and letting baby play and watch you work, also just be easy on yourself if you don't get things done. My house is not nearly as clean as it used to be and somedays she just doesn't cooperate for me to get things done.

But I find its easiest just to spread the chores out over the week and do a few things at a time.

And get out! We go for a walk every day the weather allows, have Gymboree class on Thursday and a mommy group another day during the week.
