Hey all so I tried really hard this month but sadly didn't get the results I expected. I had already made an appt with my OB/GYN since its now been a year and still no baby. I have go to to my ob to get a referral to a RE. Any advice on what to expect? I know my insurance covers quite a bit for testing and medication. Im a bit nervous but hopeful that maybe we get some answers. BTW you guys are all amazing, since I found this board I've felt much better about what I am going through!

Welcome and I'm sorry that you have to be here!
I think most OBs are different. When I went to the appointment to get my referral, my OB told me that I didn't even need to waste the copay money to come in, she would have given it to me even if I had asked by phone. But I'm glad that I had the appointment. My OB has worked with my RE a lot, so she set me right up with the appointment and ordered all of the testing that we would need so that it would be done BEFORE I got to the RE appointment.
The other things OB asked was the obvious, was I checking my temp every day, using OPKs, how often having sex, did I notice CM changes, etc. By the time I got to RE, she was thrilled because she didn't need to order any additional testing (although she did repeat SA just to be on safe side).
Some of the usual tests are lab work, vaginal ultrasound to look at ovaries, HSG, SA, maybe some pelvic exam. My experience was that both doctors were great about explaining everything as well as results.
Good luck!!!
Hope you have a good experience!
Welcome to the board, I'm sorry you have to be here.
What to expect varies depending on your OB/GYN. My OB/GYN was pretty good about testing, but I had to push for CD3 blood work and he still didn't order all the hormone levels. He did order a HSG, 7 DPO blood work and a SA for DH. Looking back, I wish i would have went straight to my RE and not wasted my time with my OB and RE #1, I would have saved several months and probably a few hundred dollars. I guess that's why hindsight is 20/20.
