..and have deswaddled...
DD currently sleeps in her swing with her arms swaddled at night. The four month wakeful has been a nasty biiiitch at our house and doing this has kept her to two wakeups a night instead of insanity. However, I realize this is crazy and cannot continue for much longer and since I have 12 days off work starting next week I am thinking it is time to bite the bullet.
DD will be 20 weeks on Sunday. I am completely unable to handle CIO (I get physically ill, I swear) so I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas on how to make the transition go as well as possible? I have heard to deswaddle and crib it in one move to just get it overwith. Do you think this is a good idea? DD also escalates with being upset if I come back and comfort her without picking her up so I think Ferber would be a fail. Has anyone used a no-cry solution? If so, what does it entail? I keep putting sleep books in my cart on Amazon.com but there are so many that I have yet to pull the trigger. Ugh, I am not looking forward to this. Any help/insight would be SO appreciated.
Re: For those who transitioned to crib...
If you're worried about deswaddling, you should look into the Merlin Sleep Suit. It muffles their movements and helps prevent them from startling themselves awake. Sleep training/CIO is a really touchy subject and everyone will have an opinion, including your LO. You can follow any method that you want, but if your LO isn't ready, its not going to take. So if a method fails, you may just need to be patient and try again in a few weeks.
You don't have to follow her CIO stuff, but this woman has a really informative blog about a variety of sleep topics:

We haven't attempted the crib yet though. DH and I just aren't ready for that!!
