Yesterday I didn't even go to work, and today I left early. I have missed so much work already from this pregnancy. I am so tired and sick feeling all the time and I'm really afraid of how much it's interfering with my job. I'm super scared of losing my job. Anyone have similar problems?
I feel the same way. I am trying to do my best to be present when I am at the office, and make the most of my time outside work to get really solid rest. Once you are comfortable enough to tell your boss your mind will be at ease, and you never know, they might already suspect it! I do know that no company wants to lay off a pregnant lady who before was a hard, stable worker. It could be seen as discrimination. Of course there are no guarantees, but thinking that makes me feel better. GL!
Yeah, I'm a music teacher and mid saxophone lesson I thought I might puke on one of the kids. Exhausted and just not feeling up to entertaining them today. HOWEVER, I am thankful to be pregnant so I'll take it and tolerate it and anticipate the surge of energy we're supposed to get back the 2nd tri. Good luck ladies!

Praying for our May15 baby!January 2014- Welcome Sweet Kimber!
I got pregnant I got a pass to be a stay at home wife cause I will have a complicated pregnancy. Husband has been awesome about everything. I miss work have no extra money but in the end it is all worth a very healthy baby. Can you maybe go down in hours for a moment just for a month or two hopefully you will be out of the first tri funk by then.
Are you covered by FMLA? If not don't worry about losing your job. You have an approve family medical leave.
You can't just go home whenever you feel and claim FMLA protection later when you're facing reprimand. There is documentation that has to be done by your doctor and submitted to your HR department to be approved for FMLA. I wouldn't think that being nauseated and tired qualifies are a serious health condition, unless it's severe hypermesis sort of thing. Besides, most people want to save that FMLA coverage for the birth, since it's 12 weeks max per year.
Yeah. I'm a freelancer, so I really make my own schedule, but I haven't really been able or motivated to work for a month now. It sucks. I am a food writer, and obviously I am not feeling the food right now. Hoping the second trimester will be kinder!
My first trimester I had horrible morning sickness..I had two jobs: both where I was on my feet the whole time. I just always kept a trashcan nearby and went to the bathroom to throw up when i could..it sucked, but I toughed it out. I'm sorry you're feeling so sick though and it does get better!!!
Re: Anyone else have trouble working now?
I am blessed to be able to be a stay at home mommy.
I give you props for sticking in there. I don't think I could stand to be at a job with the constant nausea and runs that I have!!!
