I'm new to CD and looking at doublers for nighttime options. We are using BG freetimes and GMD prefolds. Can anyone tell me the difference between different doublers (hemp, cotton, etc)? Also, can you use a doubler with a prefold? Or just with the AIO/pockets?

You can pretty much use a doubler with any diaper since they are usually a natural fibre and can go against your LO's skin. I usually use a hemp or a bamboo doubler, but have used cotton in a pinch.
Most prefer hemp because it is so thin, but one of the most absorbent fibers. You have to lay hemp under other materials though because it absorbs so slowly. Bamboo absorbs just as much as hemp (I find anyway), and absorbs more quickly, so I will use this over hemp alot of the time.
