I laughed when my OB told me that I am 4 cm dilated...until I realized she was serious!
Yesterday I had my post 40 week internal to see where things were. I cannot believe that I am walking around at a 4!! It really is funny.
I
am having lots of BH but no real contractions. I just want this kid to
make an appearance! Although my doc said she would likely just have to
break my water to start things up, I do not want to be induced at the
hospital.
SO...question for all you mama's...
Any recommendations for helping me to induce labor naturally??
I am still having sex, bouncing on my ball, staying active running errands and such, got a pedicure today, and my hubby rubs on my feet at night...anything I should add??
HEEEELP!!!

With DD I was 4cm dilated at my 40w1d appt, and my doctor swept my membranes, DD was born less than 12 hours later. I will say once labor actually started, it went quick, under 5 hours for me (FTM).
Besides what you're doing, I would say, try to relax, take a bath and get some rest, labor should be starting any time now, good luck, you'll be meeting your LO soon!
AROM would be my last resort if I had to face a medically necessary induction, and actually prefer to keep my waters intact as long as possible to avoid any other intervention.
I agree with all of this.
FWIW I was 2cm at 36 weeks. 3 cm at 37 weeks. 4 cm at 38 weeks, went into labor after sex at 39 weeks. I walked a ton, bounced on my ball, had sex, ate spicy food, for a whole week after hearing I was 4cm. It will happen when baby and your body are ready. The good thing about being 4 now is that hopefully labor will be fast for you. Mine was just under 4 hours.
Acupuncture! It worked for me, I was in labor within 12 hours. Although, I was already 5 days overdue and heading into the weekend, and dr wanted to induce the following Monday. I figured there was no downside - if it didn't work, it was just a nice hour of relaxation
Since you are already dilated, I would ask your dr about nipple stimulation before AROM. My doctor was going to try that first. She knew I wanted to be mobile, and once they break your water, you will likely have to be monitored.
