July 2013 Moms

Nursery progress?

Is anyone completely done with their LOs nursery yet?  I feel like I have so much to do still.  I mean, we have a crib and a mattress, but I'm lacking on a lot of the other essential supplies.  Less than 8 weeks left for me!  I think I am just in panic mode because I am reading all these stories of June mommas having their babies in May.

Re: Nursery progress?

  • My nursery is nowhere near ready. I'm not too worried though. our kids didn't actually use their room til 9+ months. They did  a combo of sleeping in the pnp in our room and co-sleeping. Our nursery is a huge mess right now. It was the kids small playroom so there's still a big slide and bookshelf in there. I also haven't cleaned off the closet shelf. I have two dressers in there that my MIL picked up at a ayrad sale and they need cleaned up. the carpet needs cleaned (as well as my living room carpet). There are large boxes of baby clothes everywhere as well as diapers etc. It also needs the ugly wall border taken down and the room painted and needs curtains. We also had an electrical problem in there and it has no electricity to the outlets and needs re-wired. About the only thing done in there is baby clothes put away in the closet.

  • I'm pretty much done, but I'm re-using basically everything from my first daughter, except the dresser that we just got a few weeks ago, so I cheated.  ;)

You really just need a crib, some diapers, clothes, and food....  If it's not immaculately decorated, baby really won't mind.  Trust me, I don't decorate.  I don't have a creative bone in my body.  :)

  • I also have 8 weeks left and we are moving in about a month so I have absolutely nothing ready. Moving and nesting do not go together at all. I'm also not having a baby shower for another 2 weeks so I haven't bought anything either since I'm waiting to see what I end up with. I feel completely unprepared, all we have is a carseat and a few clothes. Praying this little guy stays in till 40 weeks!

  • DH has to paint the door, install the new outlets, and install the bar and shelves in the closet. The crib and furniture are setup. I have an ultrasound next week and hope to confirm girl again so then I will wash the bedding set. The bassinet is ready in our room and I have lots of gender neutral items washed so I am ready if she is early.

My husband has worked his butt off, he got it painted put all the furniture in and then we did the rest together! I have just been finishing up washing clothes and putting them away! But they are all done!! The nursery looks awesome!
  • I'm done with the nursery, but I started early.  Because we're team green, we were able to get going earlier than those who waited to find out the sex.

  • We are finished with the nursery except for the window treatments which my aunt is making for us.  I kind of wish I had more to do in there because I enjoy decorating/organizing so much.  I'm working on a bunch of sewing projects for the baby to make time go faster.  Less than six weeks to go for us!
  • I have only what people have given me and the room still has no furniture. I'm waiting till after my shower in 2 weeks to buy anything and start organizing and fixing it up.

    So I'm here with ya!

  • We are nearly done, we are just waiting for our gliding chair to get shipped.  We started early though, re-using alot of our sons items.  We just had to double up on cribs, swings, RNP's, etc for our twins.  We also started early because the babies will be sleeping in their cribs on day 1.  That worked very well for my son, and we plan to follow the same plan.

Expecting twins! Put on strict bedrest at home after preterm labor at 22 weeks. Hospitalized at 22 weeks and again at 29 weeks. No more please!

  • Because of the move and our current living situation the baby will now be sleeping in a travel crib on the bed next to me for at least the first month.  No nursery.  Currently clothes are in a hall closet and the stroller is just randomly in the living room.  I have to find a better spot for that... :)

We are about 95% done!  We need to order our mattress (will do next week to use our completion coupon on Amazon) and then hang up the rest of the wall decorations and secure his bookshelf to the wall.  Maybe buy a rug, haven't decided on that yet.
  • We are almost done! We just need a rug, lamp, and mattress. I'm so excited!
