I guess I am moving over to this board for my last 6 weeks. LO is fortunately doing fine/great but my lungs are not. When not pregnant, I have very mild asthma that is almost never an issue. Over the past couple weeks, I ended up with severe double pneumonia that has triggered a major asthma exacerbation and I had a not so good check in with my PCP today. She has extended my steroid treatments basically through the end of my pregnancy and I am on a slew of meds to try and get my breathing under control. I'm trying not to lose it with the combination of concerns for all these meds going into my baby and also my really poor breathing. I am basically couch/bed bound not because of baby but because of my poor tolerance to any/all activity.
Do any of you have experience with this? Did your breathing go back to normal after delivery? Has anyone been on long term Prednisone through their pregnancies?

Re: Anyone with respiratory complications (for mama, not baby)?
Tried for 2 years before diagnosed with DOR and low Progesterone. MC at 16 weeks in June 2010 (Told Placenta Previa contributed to the loss)
Born September 9th 2011 (C-Section at 38 weeks for Placenta Previa)
Mommy to one darling & amazing little girl
Surprise!! EDD 12/13/13 (Hoping for a VBAC!) Off home bed rest and now just monitoring a large SCH. Stable in size but not going away. SHRINK PLEASE!

I'm not as far along as you and I'm sorry I can't offer much help. However I will say I have mild asthma as well and haven't had problems with it for at least 6 years. Since being pregnant I have noticed I do use my inhaler more than I think I ever have. The doctor says it is normal and women with any type of asthma seem to have more breathing problems at the end.
I wouldn't think they would give you that much meds if it wasn't safe. Hang in there and I will be praying for you hopefully the next few weeks go by fast.
