Hi Ladies! I hope everyone is doing well. I finally got to see an MFM yesterday and it went well for the most part. They were a refreshing change from my OB office.
They confirmed that I do NOT have placenta previa and it isn't even low lying (woohoo!). However, they did see that my cervical length is about 2.8-2.9 which is less than the 3 that they like to see. Also, they said I had some slight funneling. My cervix is still closed though.
My question is - has anyone else had a similar situation at 31 weeks and if so, what restrictions were you put on? How long were you able to keep the babies baking before they were delivered? Should I be worried? The MFM didn't really put any restrictions on me and suggested I stay horizontal as much as possible (but that might be more to control my swelling) and avoid intercourse.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Shortened Cervix and Funneling @ 31 weeks
This was just addressed yesterday I think. Here's a link to a thread on High Risk and there's a thread on this board not too far back as well. Sorry it's not a clicky link.

Thanks! I got excited and jumped the gun today with my post before checking out the rest of the board. Appreciate the links!

Thanks for sharing! I wonder if my MFM wasn't as worried because my cervix was closed and only a little bit below 3 and that's why he didn't prescribe bedrest? In any case, I will take the extra precaution and stay off my feet as much as possible.

I'm not really that experienced on this topic but I believe because you are 31 weeks it is somewhat normal to start seeing cervical changes in a multiple pregnancy. If you were only 21 weeks, it would be much more concerning and signal an incompetent cervix and/or pending pre-term delivery. I've also heard that some Dr.'s stop measuring cervical length after 28 weeks because of this. All great questions for your Dr. though - good luck!
