XPwould this be rude?

I posted this on the breastfeeding board but thought I'd ask you ladies for your opinion too.

I'm flying halfway across the country tomorrow for an interview and will need to pump. I have no problem nursing LO on a flight, but he won't be with me and I just can't bring myself to pump in public. Would it be rude on a 2 hour flight to take up the restroom for 15 mins while I pump?

If it's only a two hour flight I would pump at the airport either before or after.

I would also say if you are going to go into the bathroom for 15 minutes to pump I would make sure to tell your flight attendent what you are doing. In the post 9-11 world we live in I think someone being in the restroom for to long might raise a red flag. I am sure it will not be a problem just let them know what you're doing!

Ditto what the first poster said. Two hours is definitely a short enough time that you can pump before the flight, and do just fine. When I was away from DD for 2 days, I pumped about every 4 hours without issues.

Definitly agree with the first two posters. Completly understand not wanting to pump in public, but I would be concerned about turbulance during the flight and the lack of a seat belt in the lavatory (talk about crying over spilled milk). Plus in my mind, the pump parts would be bathroom contaminated.

I would pump before and after your flight. I have done this before. I actually went to a section of the terminal that wasn't busy and used the bathroom there, which was also pretty empty since that part of the terminal was empty.
