OMFG it is HOT

Ladies in the South, I do not know how you do it. Summer apparently showed up in NYC today, and holy cannoli is it hot. From Saturday to today is a 40-degree temperature swing.

I'll be slouching in front of the A/C, trying to de-puff my fingers while downing popsicles. Blergh.

  • I'm in NYC too and I couldn't believe the heat when I left my apartment. And I'm headed to the park in a bit with my son; may jump in the sprinklers with him.

I am in SC and yes! It is HOT! I love my ac for keeping me sane :D
  • I'm in VA...so not super South but it does get hot here.  I'm just hoping it doesn't get as hot this summer as it did last summer!  Enjoy the popsicles, I ate my last one the other day:(
  • On Long Island, usually here we get a bit of a break but it is already 87 here.  It's actually better temperature wise at my abuela's in DR!

Yea, I'm in PA, and it was 60 here on Saturday and it is 90 here today. Im the only one on my floor today, and I literally had to remind myself that I cannot just peel off my dress to get cooler, like I would do at home. We have A/C at work, but I think it is broken on my floor, because it is way cooler upstairs and downstairs.

Yep!  I am in Tennessee and have been very thankful for a mild spring, considering last year we had been up to the 100's several times by now and humidity is just starting to get bad.  This week we are in the upper 80's/low 90's and I am thankful for AC!!

Also, I want to say FU to everybody who tells me that I'm lucky that my due date is early July, because then I "won't be pregnant during the summer." Granted, it is nicer than late August, but I'm pretty miserable when the weather is in the 90s not pregnant, let alone while pregnant, regardless of what month the 90 degree weather hits.

  • I'm on the west coast of Canada and we've had the heat on the past few days, with nothing but rain, rain, rain...  I know it's the Pacific NW, but ths is getting ridiculous!  It's almost June for goodness' sake (it's not June yet, is it? Is it?  I don't even remember what day it is now that I'm on mat leave).

You can send some of the heat here... My toddler is getting cabin fever, and since we're a one-car family, getting to the pool or playgroup is a PITA!!

  • Definitely warm here, but I'm a Texan and used to it. We pretty much just live in the AC!

  • It's soooooo muggy in Illinois. I'm tired of the constant thunderstorms everyday flooding us. It's stressful. And now it's uber hot. Air conditioner and fan pointing at my chair over here!
  • 90 in Maryland today as well!  I am actually grateful that I was laid off and at home now because I have literally been laying on my couch with my fan on high butt naked since I woke up.  I'm also extra-appreciative of my poor husband who has to work a 12 hour landscaping job today!

I drew all the shades in the house, cranked the A/C and am considering life as a hermit for the next few days.

Same here, aside from the windows in my office.  I can't function when there isn't natural light when I'm trying to work.  I would die in a cubicle.

  • I'm in PA. I have to work today but DH is home opening the pool!!
  • On a semi-related note, those Edy's fruit bars are REALLY yummy.

Even the dog doesn't want to go out...

Ha-ha - same here!  With it being 90 already in PA, its going to be a long June.  Our AC was down here at work for the first half of the morning.  And at home, we don't have central, just window units.  DH took one look at me when he woke up this morning and promised to have them in before I got home today.

YES.  People are like, "but you're due July 30th so it's not like you have to make it through August!" Um...there's a chance I might have to make it through half of August.  And July is also hot.  And today it is 90 degrees and I want to melt into a puddle.  Tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter and all I want to do is stay in bed under the A/C vent and eat popsicles.

It is literally the first thing out of everybody's mouth when I tell them that I am pregnant. "well, at least you won't be pregnant during the summer." Ummm, last time I checked July 10 IS during the summer. Last July 4 was 97 degrees and 100% humidity. Andplusalso, I know that every pregnancy is different, but both my sisters had boys as their first. Both went as late as their doctor would allow them to go (10 days and 2 weeks respectively). I'm just mentally preparing myself to have this child July 24. And I can tell you now, if I am two weeks late, in July, I am going to be miserable.

Lurking from June. I'm due at the end of June and I have to agree about people saying I'm lucky I won't be pregnant all summer. I live in Southern WV and it will be in the 90s today. We don't have A/C. Popsicles and ice packs are my best friends right now.

Holy crap ::thumbs up::. It is usually more humid in August, but heat-wise it's generally over 100 in June and July here in Texas. I keep my AC at 80 or it will run all day. :/

Totally agree! Our freezer is stocked with those fruit bars - I have one every night!
