Hi,
I had a natural miscarriage at the end of April and I was approximately 11 weeks but the baby stopped developing at 6 weeks. I have gone through the worst of it (heavy bleeding) weeks ago but still have occassional bleeding (light reddish brownish).
I talked to my doctor and he said it could take up to 6 weeks and I am near the end of that. How much longer is this going to go on and how do I now start tracking my period to try again? Also, I was told to wait at least 3 cycles before we start trying again but have read numerous posts that say to start after 1 cycle.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Re: When will it be over?
I hadn't been referred yet to a OBGYN or midwife so I have been dealing with my family doctor. He did not ask me to get an additional ultrasound or to get blood drawn. I foudn he wasn't really knowledgeable in this area (no after care or instructions).
I agree with PPs, I would call your doctor and have them check, or if you aren't comfortable with them, then I would ask to see a different doctor or an OB.
I have a family doctor, and she already set up an appointment for me to come in to get an ultrasound in 2 weeks to check on my uterus(I just started bleeding from natural mc on Tuesday evening). So it doesn't have to be an OB, just someone who you are comfortable with. She can also order betas if I need them or ask.
As for when to TTC, I will discuss that with my doctor, and I have also asked my sister (also a family doctor who delivers babies) to look into the research. I'd like to know the reasoning behind choosing to wait or choosing to start right away, since doctors have such different advice.

Good luck and I agree to try and get in to see a specialist
