Trouble getting going in the morning

I've never considered myself a "morning person" in that I wake up ready to take on the world, but I've always allowed myself enough sleep to be able to get up and be fully alert pretty quickly (without caffeine).

I'm almost 8 weeks pregnant now, and I'm having SO much trouble getting started in the mornings. I get about 9-10 hours of sleep per night, and still take about 2 hours to become fully alert and ready to do things. I get out of bed and just stand around groggily looking at things blankly. My husband doesn't know whether to laugh at me or be concerned, since it's very out of character for me. I've tried sleeping longer, but my body just won't let me.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Last pregnancy I experienced the most crippling fatigue around 8 weeks or so. It lasted until about 14 weeks or so. It sounds like that is what you are experiencing. It didn't matter how much sleep I got, I was always tired.

Totally!  I think I am only completely awake by the time I reach my office, about 30min drive from my house...

I have always loved my sleep but this is a new low for me...I also sleep between 8 to 9 hrs a day and by lunch time everyday I feel like I need a nap!

I have to force myself to get up and walk to the kitchen and make  toast or grab a banana before the nausea hits...

I don't knw about you, but I just don't want to do anything. I see my house which is in serious need of fixing , and I just stay looking at it for hours.

This is me. It's starting to get better now that my first tri is drawing to a close, but I still have some pretty off days. If I could sleep the entire first trimester off I would!

I am definitely in the same boat. I end up hitting "snooze" on the alarm for almost an hour before I finally get up. I go to sleep early and should be getting 10 hours, but I am constantly waking up during the night to pee or switch positions.

I don't ever want to get out of bed in the morning and I sleep for 9-10 hours, but I get up at 5am and work 7-3:30 every day.  Sometimes by 2pm I can hardly keep my eyes open, I've never been so tired in my life!

I do the same thing! I walk around like a zombie for 45 minutes after I wake up and I'm normally a very good morning person.
