just read "Charlotte's Web" again

I know it's a classic, but I wanted to bring it up because I forgot how great it is.  A friend of mine suggested reading it to DS1 after my FIL died recently.   It brought up a lot of conversations about friendship and bullying and death and God in a pretty child-friendly way.

DS is 5, and I thought he may be too young, but he really got into the book. Anyway, I thought I would recommend it to anyone else who had forgotten about it.

I totally forgot that Charlotte dies...that book was the first book that made me cry. I loved it!

  • I taught 3rd grade for 6 years.  Charlotte's Web was one of our novels.  I have always loved the book, but after reading it so many times I am now annoyed by Wilbur and all of his whinning. I never thought of how it could help with the death topic discussion though, thanks for sharing =)
