This is bittersweet

Tonight is our last night in what's been our home for the past 4.5 years. Doesn't seem like such a long tike, but my how things changed in tjose few short years. We bought this condo as newlyweds, and are now moving out of it as a family of 5. As excited as I am to be settling into what should be our "forever house", I can't help but feel a twinge of sadness leaving all those memories behind. sigh

    I completely understand. Hopefully, you'll get settled in the new place quickly and find it feels like home.

    I drove by our old house the other day and had a really hard time fighting back tears. We had a similar situation, lived there in sin, got engaged there, married, and the boys were born there.

    Ditto. The house I grew up in I drive by almost daily now. This is the house that my grandfather built, I broke my arm falling out of the maple tree in the back yard, my name is probably still written in the closet in the bedroom. I haven't gotten up the nerve to knock on the door and talk to the folks that live there yet. Maybe in the summer if I see them Out in the front yard .

    That is definitely bittersweet - I think it's awesome that you have so many memories in one house, though. This is our 4th house in 4 years of marriage!

    I'm a nostalgic sap and so this situation would be totally bittersweet for me too. Thankfully, you'll make many, many more memories in your new home and grow to love it just as much as you do the condo.

    Awwww, big hugs!!!!

    We were just discussing moving over the weekend.  While I'm not super attached to this house, we have had so many major life changes while living here, and I was definitely sad when I really started thinking about it!
