This week has been quite eventful. I woke up on Tuesday not feeling right. I couldn't put my finger on it, I just knew I didn't feel good. I started contracting at work that morning and they were pretty frequent. LIke every 10-20 minutes and I could feel them. Had a normal two week appt at 11:45. Good thing too, I had a UTI that was causing the contractions. I was ordered home to bedrest for the rest of the afternoon.
This in turn kinda freaked out my job because we have nothing in place for my leave. I haven't even talked with my boss about my definite time frame for my maternity leave. My "replacement" (if you can call him that, boss's son who's leaving for college 3 weeks after my due date) starts next Wednesday. So, needless to say, the past two days have been nothing but updating procedures, refreshing and training others in the office, and scheduling a lunch appointment with my boss to finalize things.
The kicker at how real things are getting for me... I lost part of my mucous plug this morning. Wondering if maybe my contractions the past few days are really and truly getting me ready for labor and the dilation process has started. Here's to the next 5 weeks flying by!
Re: this week...
Asbromie - After the urine test and the nurse's reaction, I knew what was going on. I actually went into preterm labor with my son because of a UTI. Once I recognized the symptoms it made sense. I was only 32 weeks with my son, so I had the shot of tributiline (spelling is horrible sorry), a bag or two of antibiodics and the results were of the devil. The shot to stop labor was the WORST. And the after effects of the antibiodics was hot flashes and feeling messed up. Sat through my baby shower that way.
Was so very glad to avoid the hospital this time!
