Trying to Get Pregnant

headache

So whether this may be related to pregnancy or not I've had a headache for the past week.

I went to the doctor to see what's safe to take for allergies (I think this headache is related to allergies), while TTC or KU, he said Claritin, does not help at ALL.

Does anyone have a natural remedies other than a Netty Pot (I think that's what they are called) as am aid for allergies. I'm slightly crazy about putting anything into my body while possibly pregnant and/or other than natural products. (Yes, I'm one of those)

I haven't tried it but I have friends that use honey from local bees as a way to combat allergies.  I usually suffer through it - Claritin does nothing for me but Benadryl knocks me out.  Hope you feel better soon!

This is exactly what I was going to tell you. The local honey won't work right away, but has been shown in many studies to reduce allergy symptoms over time. GL.

  • Laying down with a hot towel or wash cloth over my eyes helps with my migraines allergy related or not so you may try that or turning your bathroom into sauna? The sauna approach helps release nasal pressure headaches for me. I hope this helps, sorry you're suffering. I sympathize whole heartedly.
  • I took Claritin before it went OTC. For it to work you have to take it every day (symptoms or not). My Dr. Always had me start taking it March 1st and stop taking it November 1st. It has to build in your system.

  • My doctor kind of hit on that too, he said take 2 a day for 2 weeks then ween to 1, then take PRN. He said they have done studies for the past 15 years (something int the teens, I was kind of paying attention) and have shown that Claritin have no effects on baby. I still don't trust meds in my body with a baby but he said that would be my best bet. :/

The Target brand 'Claritin' works best for me. You have to take it daily though. I still get massive headaches/migraines that nothing can touch.
  • I'm with tigger99. I take Zyrtec everyday, but I have severe allergies. I'm a wimp, I refuse to suffer. Good luck finding a remedy that works for you girlie.
