Hello!
I was wondering which spelling you prefer. DH and I have both English and Italian in our heritage so the origin isn't a huge factor. I was just wondering what you thought about each spelling. Do you think it changes the pronunciation? Will one be commonly misspelled? etc.
I appreciate your input.
Re: Camilla vs Camila
I agree with every word of this. Either way, pretty name.

This. I prefer the Cah-mill-ah pronunciation as well!
camilla
Camilla is Ca-mill-a
Camila is Ca-mee-la
the question isn't which spelling do you like better, it is what pronunciation you like better.
which do YOU like better?
Agreed
Agreed.
Camila = ka-MEE-la
I don't have a preference. Both are NMS.

My husband picked this name! I've been writing it out on a piece of paper (7th grade crush style LOL) and I think I like the double L. The more I've looked it up, it seems like Camilla really can be pronounced either way, while Camila is strictly the EE sound.
I appreciate your feedback. I'm leaning toward the double L spelling with the short 'i' pronunciation. It sounds pretty, but still strong and polished to me. Thank you!
This. I like the double Ls!
I see it as Cam-uh-la vs. Ca-mil-a.
