Today we completed our fifth IUI attempt. I was so nervous leading up to today that I was really surprised by my calmness once I arrived at the RE. We triggered with 3 follicles and my husband?s sperm continues to improve with the Clomid. SA - post wash was 10M with 65% mobility. Once the IUI was complete I immediately received acupuncture (which we have not yet tried during a cycle) and will continue with it throughout the dreaded 2ww.
I'm feeling incredibly emotional tonight, but in a good way. I am so grateful and so in love with my husband. He arrived at the RE 20 minutes before I got there today and sat fidgeting in the waiting room. He had the biggest nervous smile on his face when I came in. He insisted on holding my hand during the procedure (which was a good thing considering he was making me laugh so hard the entire time I nearly blew the speculum right across the room) When the procedure was complete he stood up and shook the RE?s hand and told him that if it worked this time the RE would forever be in our prayers and if it didn?t he should never expect a gift from Santa again.
I guess the point of all of this is sometimes we get so wrapped up dwelling about the things that we don?t have that we forget the blessings we do have. I am so lucky to have a husband that is not only supportive but so involved when it comes to this fertility journey. I may not have everything I want at the moment, but I certainly have everything I need.
Here?s to hoping the positive attitude lasts throughout the 2ww although it is unlikely J
Re: It's a wrap, IUI #5 in the books
