I work 3 days/week, generally 8-4. There are other people who have flexible arrangements or work 100% remotely, or remotely a couple of days a week, but it is not a widespread practice.
So there is a woman who works in a completely different department who I have always been friendly with in passing, but who has absolutely nothing to do with what I do. We have no impact on each other's work whatsoever. I have chatted with her many times and have never had a reason to think she has any issues with me.
But lately she has started making comments to me when she sees me in the lunch room like "oh you still work here?". One day when I was on the way to my lunch room to heat up my lunch (which I eat at my desk), she said "do you even stay here long enough to get a lunch?" I just laughed it off but thought WTH is up with her?
So I ran into her in the hallway and she says "oh look who's here". Meanwhile I have been here all week...So I said to her "Now I don't know if you're being funny or mean." She smiled and said "oh, I'm always funny" but meanwhile she is really bugging the cr@p out of me with her comments as this has been several times now.
She chats with a couple of other people in my dept so I don't know if someone is complaining to her and that's where this is coming from but it's really starting to get on my nerves. I know she has been unhappy in her job and some people around here work ridiculous hours all the time and maybe she's one of them so that's why she's salty.
Anyway, would you talk to her, continue to blow if off, or something else? I am so annoyed right now but I know I should not let her get to me.
