Sitz Bath Preference ? BTDT Mom?s

Sorry if this has already been asked.

 

I?m getting ready to put together my Postpartum Kit and was going to purchase a Sitz bath. There are a bunch of different brands and never having used one before I?m not sure if all Sitz Bath?s are created equal and I should just get the cheapest one or if there are differences. Anyone have a preference.

 

Also, please suggest which Sitz Bath Solution/Salt/Mix to purchase; if they are worth purchasing versus just using plain water.

    Find out if your hospital will give you one. At our 5 week birthing class at the hospital the labor and delivery nurse had a big cart showing all of the various medical paraphernalia that we would typically see during a birth and after, and a Sitz bath was one of the items, along with a peri bottle, Detmaplast, etc. She said they used to give one to everyone, but a lot of people just tossed them so now they give them out only when asked. They were really nice quality, I'm definitely asking for one when I leave!

    I wouldn't get one in advance.  If you need one, they will get you one at the hospital and you can take it home afterwards.  As somebody who ended up with a unexpected c-section, it would have been useless item at my house.
